Vectura beverage logistics operation

About the company

Vectura is Norway's leading logistics provider for wine, spirits, and other alcoholic beverages — handling around half the Norwegian beverage logistics market. From their site at Hagan, just outside Oslo, they import from more than 1,000 producers across 50+ countries, then warehouse and distribute to Vinmonopolet, HoReCa, wholesalers, and the tax-free segment — roughly 50 million units a year. They're part of Arcus-Gruppen.

The Challenge

Vectura was running into a familiar pattern in beverage logistics: overtime piling up unevenly across drivers, external hires used as a constant fallback to cover demand peaks (especially the Christmas trade with HoReCa), and dispatchers spending two hours a day on manual route planning. The cost showed up in payroll, in third-party invoices, and in something harder to quantify — driver workload imbalance and the HSE risks that came with it.

The Solution

Vectura adopted Zendera with workload balancing as a first-class objective — not as a side effect of optimising kilometres. The system plans routes that take both driver capacity and client requirements into account: matching the right drivers and the right equipment to customers with specific delivery needs, and spreading the load more evenly across shifts. Daily route planning dropped from two hours to thirty minutes.

The Results

  • 3,159h → 1,591h

    Overtime

−50%, comparing equivalent half-year periods including the Christmas peak

  • 277 → 86

    External hires

−69%, sustained even through the Christmas HoReCa peak

  • 2h → 30min

    Daily planning time

Planners now review and adjust rather than build from scratch

  • Improved

    HSE

More consistent, healthier workdays — and customers matched with the right equipment and driver knowledge
